“We all share the same passion, why would we not celebrate our shared interest to Dance?”, says Laurel Brown, co-founder of Dancefest. Students come to DANCEFEST to embrace their joy to perform their dances, to honour the talents and achievements of their peers, and to learn from each other. We collaborate in ways that enrich the artistry and create a fun and non- threatening environment. Many participants remain friends long after the event and high school is over.

The Most Inspiring Dancers are chosen by the teachers of each school to recognize their leadership, dedication, creativity, work ethic, enthusiasm and respect for the art form, fellow artists and the creative space. The “next steps” shared by the Adjudicators and Dance Educators are well received and appreciated as is the recognition to acknowledge and celebrate where participants currently are along their dance journey.
